Lori Waite’s Run and Pledge Page! Team in Training! Tyler! San Diego Marathon! June 3, 2001!

On June 3, 2001 I will do something I've always thought impossible for me. I will run the San Diego "Rock and Roll" Marathon!!! I'm really excited about it and have plunged very seriously into my training program. My husband and I purchased a treadmill to help me in my training, so I no longer have the excuse that "it's too cold," or "it's dark outside" to keep me from running.
On January 18th I took an additional step and joined the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training Program. The Society supports runners by coordinating Team in Training, the nation's premier endurance training program. The mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's Disease and myeloma. Team in Training is the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's largest national fund-raiser.
One of the most unique and special aspects of the Team in Training program is that each participant is matched with an Honored Teammate. My honored Teammate is Tyler Winchel and he is my personal connection to leukemia and other blood-related cancers.
Tyler will celebrate his 4th birthday two and a half weeks before the Marathon. He was first diagnosed with High Risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on December 4th, 1998, when he was 18 months old.
Please help me help Tyler and others who have blood related cancers by raising money for research. All of us appreciate your support.
